Visit the Gardens at Adaland

Adaland Mansion has 3 acres of formal gardens, a large planned arboretum of native trees, and a collection of 22 heritage apple trees. Based on the concept of traditional Victorian Gardens found in England at the turn of the century. The first volunteers at Adaland planned to use as many heritage verities of flowers and plants as possible. Planting many native species to West Virginia and Appalachia over all. Over the last twenty five years some of those flowers and trees have reached the end of their lifecycle and we are in the process of replanting and redeveloping the gardens for the future.

Annually, Adaland Mansion hosts a tree pruning class for the public and we welcome volunteers to spend time in our 22 two tree orchard. Planted in 202o volunteers help to returned apples back to the property. Adaland Mansion historically had an apple orchard, made apple brandy, and sold apples as a cash crop.
