Sunday Buffet Dinner | Sunday, July 7, Three seatings: 12:30, 2:15 or 3:45 pm.

Guests for this day are treated to the mouthwatering down home cooking of Adaland’s long time cook, Lucy Williamson. The buffet table will be laden with two entrees, a collection of sides, salad with Lucy’s famous dressing, homemade bread, and a sideboard of luscious desserts. Adaland’s signature peach iced tea and coffee round out the afternoon meal that has become a favorite of many visitors. Adults $25.00. Children $10.00. Reservations are required and limited to 10 per caller. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

 

Vintage Theatre Production | Saturday, July 13, 6:00 pm.

The evening on Adaland’s side yard pavilion begins with a buffet dinner prepared by Adaland’s veteran cook, Lucy Williamson. After dinner, local and area actors will entertain the audience with a Vintage Theatre Production of “As You Like It” by Shakespeare. The play will be followed by wine and cheese with cast. $40.00 per person. Performance only $20.00. Students Free for show only. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

 

Christmas in July Ornament Making Workshop | Wednesday, July 17, 10:00 to 3:00 pm

Two ornament workshops will give lucky participants a chance to get an early start on Christmas decorating on July 17 and 24. Sharon Harsh will guide participants in making some of the beautiful ornaments she has provided on trees at Adaland for several years. Registration fee is $40.00 per person for each session and includes all materials for 3 ornaments, and lunch! Attend both workshops and get a $5 discount on the second workshop. Pre-register by June 17, 2019. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

 

Children’s Tea on the Pavilion | Saturday, July 20, 2:00 pm

A Special Children’s Tea complete with table decorations, fun activities, and story sharing on the pavilion.  Special favorite food will be on the menu. Adults are welcome. $15.00. Limited seating. Reservations Required. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater | Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3, 5:00 pm.

Audiences have been enjoying our dinner theater for a number of years. We are still bringing Karen Vuranch’s wonderful comedy thrillers to life each year with Eddie Poling, a very talented local musician and actor as the director of our fabulous local theater group. Our presentation this year will be repeat of a favorite show by

Karen as a special anniversary event. Join us on August 2 or 3 for a really fun filled thriller and help solve the murder. $40.00 per person. Reservations are required and limited to 10 per caller. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

 

20th Anniversary Tag Sale Fundraiser | Friday and Saturday, August 9 and 10, 10:00 to 4:00 pm

Add arts, crafts, tools and antiques for sale on the pavilion. Open to the public. No pre sales. Free admission. Food for purchase.

SEPTEMBER

 

20th Anniversary Celebration at the Barn | Saturday, September 7, 11:00 to 3:00 pm

We will celebrate in the barn to honor our 20th Anniversary as a tourism site in Barbour County. Join us for crafts and displays that direct the spotlight on the restored barn where a varied collection of reproductions of equipment and tools owned by Augustus Modisett, builder of the mansion house, are displayed. Bring a picnic or buy lunch, available for $15.00 each. No barn admission charge. House tours available for $10.00.

 

20th Anniversary Dinner on the Pavillion | Sunday, September 8, Seating at 1:00 pm

Jason Fleck, Award Winning Chef, will be preparing a delicious farm to table dinner. The menu is Summer Berry Salad with feta cheese and poppy seed dressing. The buffet will have Mountain Trout Cakes with corn relish and a roasted red pepper jam; Hickory Smoked Brisket with guajillo BBQ sauce; spinach, artichoke and goat  cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast: oven roasted Potato Wedges with ramps, Country Style Green Beans, Penne Pasta with a smoked gouda cream sauce, Grilled Corn on the Cobb with seasoning, For dessert: Mixed Berry Tart, Apple Cobbler and fresh watermelon, plus hot rolls and drinks. OCTOBER

 

West Virginia Heritage Tea | Saturday, October 19, 2:00 pm.

HIGH TEA Four courses of assorted fresh fruit, tea sandwiches, scones, and mini desserts with variety of hot teas and punch. Adults $30. Reservations Required. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

 

NOVEMBER

 

Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner | Sunday, November 24, Three seatings: 12:30, 2:15 or 3:45 pm.

First of our holiday celebrations. The buffet dinner features a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Adaland’s own cook of 14 years, Lucy Williamson, prepares a buffet table spread with seasonal delectables including ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and other vegetables, salad with Lucy’s secret dressing, homemade rolls warm from the oven, a dessert table heavy with pies and cakes of the season, and Adaland’s signature peach iced tea. Adults $25.00. Children $10.00. Reservations are required and limited to 10 per caller. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

Christmas Open House with Santa’s Bake Shop | Saturday, December 7, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Free Admission. Guests are offered a cookie, a cup of coffee, or hot tea while they visit and are welcomed by twinkling lights, red velvet ribbons, garlands, and wreathes as well as Christmas trees in every room. Homemade Cookies Santa’s Bake Shop features homemade Christmas cookies baked for the occasion by Adaland Board member Jeannie Mozley. Gift Shop Open.

New Year’s Eve Dinner | Tuesday, December 31, Seatings at 5:00 and 7:30 pm.

Special dinner and live Music. Adults $40.00 each. Reservations are required and limited to 10 per caller. Reservations must be paid in advance with a credit card, check, or cash.

Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

and on Sundays by appointment. $10.00 adults.

 

Tickets for children ages 6-12 years are free for house tours, half price for buffets, but full price on tea events.

 

To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we are waiving the  10% historic preservation fee on all events. Donations are happily accepted at anytime to preserve this historic property, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
