Weddings may be scheduled from May to mid October. Ceremonies are held in the garden, on the pavilion or the double porch, at the front entrance overlooking the garden, or on the lawn. Receptions buffets are served in the main dining room. Guests eat on the pavilion.
Our patio offers an area for dancing or a scenic location for cutting the cake. Use of the pavilion, chairs, tables and linens are part of the wedding package. A bride’s suite and a groom’s room are available for the wedding party before the ceremony and during the reception. In case of inclement weather, a curtain is available on the pavilion and the ceremony can be arranged in a nearby historic church.
The cost of the 2017 wedding package is $2,500.00. Prices do not include flowers, photography, music or catering. A deposit fee is required to secure a date.
Adaland offers a short history presentation by a costumed guide, followed by lunch or dinner in the elegant mansion house or on the outdoor pavilion. Guided tours of the house and 1850 barn are available as well as the gift shop with a variety of quality locally made crafts. Adaland specializes in handmade baskets, West Virginia blown glass and loom woven rugs. The well kept gardens are open for walking tours. Buses are accommodated in the wide paved road to the barn area where modern restroom facilities are available and to the house where unloading and parking assistance is available. Handicapped restrooms are available at the barn, gift shop and on first floor of the mansion house.
Often, tours combine a visit to Adaland with a visit to the American Mountain Theater or Tygart Flyer Railroad in nearby Elkins or other points in nearby Weston, Clarksburg, Grafton or Morgantown. Bus tour operators are encouraged to contact 304-457-1587 for more details. All bus tours must be prearranged and scheduled in advance. An information packet on bus tours is available.
